Product Details

THIS IS SUPER RARE!! This is a 1910s to 1920s children's size silk kimono top from a set of pajamas! Off white with a blue and pink floral pattern and large butterfly on the back. It is not lined, no closure it hangs open in front. It is in very good condition for the age and definitely wearable. There is one area of wear to the silk along the front lapel seam, a scattered mark or two and an area of slight snagging or wear to the surface. See the last photo.

The May Company was founded in 1877 in Leadville Colorado by St. Louis MO merchant David May. Later headquartered in St. Louis MO from 1905 until it was acquired by Macy's in 2005. For 147 years, The May Company owned and operated 500 stores across the US including Famous-Barr, Marshall Field's, The Jones Store, Hecht, Kaufmann's, Lord & Taylor and Robinson's-May among others.  I personally worked for The May Company during it's final stretch from 2003-2005.

About the size... while this was originally marketed as a child's size it will fit an XXS woman. It is shown on an XXS dress form. For reference the dress form has a 31 inch bust at the fullest point and 34 inch hips. There is no stretch to this silk.

Around body, measured across the back and doubled - 36 inches
Length from shoulder to hem - 23.5 inches
Sleeves - 7 inches
Shoulders - 17 inches

Professional dry clean only.
